How ironic life is
We strive to be perfect all the time
Hoping to gain popularity
By having model-like figure
Dieting away like no other
In vain of losing those pounds of fat
And upon gaining recognition from others
How ironic life is
The way we sigh and worry about health
The way we gulp supplements frantically
Hoping to chase away ills
Yet comsuming rich food everyday
Salt and sugar rises sky high
Polluting our bodies with their harm
How ironic life is
That we strive and work for exellence
Yet we gain not much and looked down
For being 'too smart' or 'too pushy'
As envious stares pierces our back
If we were to be on top of everything
How ironic life is
That we feverishly revise like hell
Since toddlers to sophomores in a university
All for the sake of excelling
But none for the sake of experience
For life doesn't need all the knowledge in the world itself
It needs skill alongside as well
How ironic life is
That we break down in tears if we were rejected
That we cling onto popularity till now
Figuring out that fame and fortune should be our first priority
And health and happiness comes later
But regrets come in flying
As we lie on our deathbed
And reminiscence of our past
Wishing we could turn back time
And redo the silly doings we did
All for the sake of being accepted
Into nothing...
